Gamified Personality Test

Objective
To create an immersive, interactive game that replaces traditional and often cumbersome personality tests with a more engaging, visually rich experience. The goal was to design an intuitive game interface within Blender, Unreal Engine and Unity for psychotherapeutic use, allowing users to explore their Big Five personality traits through a series of interactive islands, each representing a different personality aspect. The game aims to simplify the personality assessment process and offer a personalized, visual representation of the user’s traits.
This project was created in collaboration with Tom Uziekalla as part of my studies at the Cooperate State University (DHBW).
What we've done
UI/UX Design – Developed an intuitive and user-friendly interface focused on accessibility and smooth navigation. The design ensures that the player easily understands how to interact with the game and progress through the personality test.
Game Concept & Design – Created a game concept that gamifies the traditional personality test, using five distinct islands to represent the Big Five personality traits. Each island’s environment is tailored to the specific trait, providing an immersive experience.
Visual Branding – Designed a unique branding for the game, ensuring that the visuals aligned with the theme of psychotherapeutic evaluation while being engaging and fun. The branding includes everything from game icons to UI elements and the overall art style.
Interaction Design & Color Coding – Implemented a color-coded interaction system that guides players on how to interact with game elements. Different colors highlight clickable areas and key actions, ensuring clarity and a seamless experience.
Case Video Production – Produced a case video showcasing the gameplay and the process of discovering personality traits within the game. The video is designed to highlight the ease and effectiveness of this gamified approach to psychological assessments.
Design System – Developed a comprehensive design system that ensured consistency across all game elements. This includes consistent use of color schemes, typography, and interaction styles that align with the overall branding and user experience.
Landing Page & Marketing Materials – Designed and developed a landing page to promote the game, providing information about the game’s purpose, features, and benefits. Additionally, we created marketing materials such as merchandise and promotional assets to help advertise the game and enhance its visibility.
